North Shore Branch Library Redevelopment Study

Shulman + Associates was engaged by the City of Miami Beach to do a brief study of redevelopment opportunities for the North Shore Branch Library at 7501 Collins Avenue. S+A was further tasked with synthesizing community input gathered over two days of public meetings on March 16 and 17, 2022; and with making recommendations related to the City’s subsequent development of an RFP.

The North Shore Branch Library and its surrounding parking were developed in the 1970s as a way to bring a critical amenity to the North Beach community. Located between two well established historic districts and also bridging the important public amenities of Ocean Terrace and Altos del Mar Park, it could play a greater role in the urban and civic fabric to which it belongs.
