Urbanica The Meridian Hotel

Miami Beach, Florida | 2018

S+A was the architect and interior designer for this first Miami Beach property for Urbanica Hotels. The project site lies on a single block at the intersection of 5th Street and Meridian Avenue. A one-story 1953 apartment building and a three-story 1925 Mediterranean Revival-style hotel were adapted for hotel use with retail along the north façade. A new four-story structure was inserted to weave together the existing buildings, connected by a series of open-air walkways. Inside, S+A used a palette featuring blonde wood and neutral pastels with whimsical accents.
