The Arts & Letters Garage celebrates the history of the Collins Park neighborhood and its evolution into a cultural hub. It represents the culmination of a multi-year process involving multiple actions by the City Commission, Capital Improvement, and the Historic Preservation Board. With the goal of enhancing the building’s sustainability, the City required the project team to deliver a building that can be certified LEED at the Gold Level and certified Parksmart. The garage is being delivered as a Design Build project under KVC Constructors, with Shulman + Associates as Design Architect and Wolfberg Alvarez as Architect-of-Record. Shulman has designed a signature structure for Collins Park, the cultural center of the city. The façade features a playful, elegant word matrix that celebrates the history of the neighborhood and of Miami Beach. The garage will accommodate 513 cars and feature 15,000 SF of retail at the ground level, providing residents and visitors to Collins Park with much-needed parking and retail amenities.
